We added support for gx:track kml extension. There is an example (click the "Fly" button):
Somebody uploaded this kmz today and it didn't work. After a quick examination we found that there is no "classic" LineString in the file. Instead, there is a gx:track with times and coordinates. One strange property of this format is that times are recorded separately from coordinates. In gpx for example all data is normally grouped in a trackpoint tag, but not kml...
